Athletics: Nevis at Pelican Rapids meet – Park Rapids Enterprise


PELICAN RAPIDS — The winning times for the sprint medley and 1,600-meter medley relay teams led the Nevis Women’s Athletics Team to seventh place at the Hank Emmel Relays Invitational on Thursday, May 5.

Grace McNamee, Marley Mitchell, Addison Lindow and Jade Rypkema won the medley sprint in 4:26.13 while Adeline Bjorklund, Mitchell, Lindow and Rypkema led the field in the medley distance in 13:10.33 while that the Tigers compiled 41 points. Perham topped the 11-team field with 137.50 points.

McNamee also placed for the Tigers in the 100 hurdles (third in 18.20) and 300 hurdles (fifth in 53.29), Liddy DeWulf (fourth at 32 feet, 9.50 inches) and Ava Isaacson (fifth at 32- 7) shot put. , and Isaacson on disc (fifth at 92-3). Emily Lindow, Kendall Nelson, Taylor Monroe and Amber Pyburn finished eighth in the 4x200m relay clocking 2:10.25.

Jon Rice’s second in 44.17 in the 300 hurdles led the Nevis boys to a share of 12th place with 8 points. Pelican Rapids led the 13-team field with 116 points.

Evan Pohl, Ayo Ogundeji, Eli Peterson and George Bjorklund finished third in the medley relay in 11:43.53. Nathan Pyburn, Rice, Eli Bergstrom and Daniel Lindow finished seventh in the 800 medley sprint relay in 1:49.51 while Bergstrom, Jeffery Walker, Ethan Bucholtz and Lindow placed eighth in the 1600 medley sprint relay in 4:16 ,61.
