With another exciting week of high school track season behind us, it’s time to take a look back at the top performances and pick the best one.
Check out the players who stood out last week and tell us who you think should be North Jersey’s Performer of the Week in the poll at the bottom of this page. Each of this week’s nominees won a state group championship last weekend.

Jason Ballen
Midland Park Senior
The 2021 Group 1 discus champion has added the 2022 javelin title to his resume. He finished second in the defense of his discus title.
Fall of Souleymane
Bergenfield senior
The first bear to win a state title in 13 years, he won the 3,200 meter group after finishing fourth in the 100m.
Zach Hartung
Senior Brook Saddle
He won the state Group 1 shooting title and also qualified for the State Meet of Champions in discus.
Georges Kalkanis
mahwah junior
Had a Personal Best and won the Group 2 Javelin title.
Daye Karibi-Whyte
senior teaneck
He broke a 42-year-old school record by winning Group 3 Disc, becoming the first Teaneck pitcher to win a state title — in 42 years.
Dan Mikai
Demarest senior
Winning a state title and setting a school record is tough. Mikay did both by winning Group 2 Disc.
Nathan Park
Old Tappan Junior
In his first year of aerobatics, he won the Group 3 title, the fifth Golden Knight to win the event in the last eight competitions.
Benjamin Shue
Catholic freshman from Bergen
Extended his Bergen County record by winning the non-public A record title with the number 8 performance in state history and also won the hit.
Nathan Storz
Emerson senior
He won the Group 1 triple jump with the longest jump in North Jersey this year and also finished second in the long jump.
Max Zuckermann
Pascack Hills senior
The perennial contender won his second outdoor Group 2 jumping title and his third overall State Group title.
