Penn State announces indoor track program


UNIVERSITY PARK, Pennsylvania – Penn State Head Coach in Track and Field Jean Gondak announced the team’s 2021-22 indoor fixture list.

“We are very happy to return to a normal racing schedule this season,” said Gondak. “It will be exciting to compete with schools outside of the Big Ten and travel to new places like we are doing this year. Our schedule will set us up for success during the championship period and our team looks forward to showing off all the training that we have. ‘she did this fall.

The Nittany Lions are expected to start the season with the Bison Opener in Bucknell on December 4 before heading into the holidays. The team will open the new year with three consecutive home games at Penn State’s Multi-Sport Facility and the Horace Ashenfelter III indoor track, starting with the Nittany Lion Challenge on January 15.

Penn State will be on the road throughout February with three consecutive weekends of split-team meetings. The meet-and-greet series will begin with trips to Winston Salem, North Carolina and the New York Armory on February 4 and 5, followed by meetings at Vanderbilt and Boston University on February 11 and 12. Regular season competition ends a week later with Penn State Tune Up and JDL DMR Invitational in Winston Salem, NC

The Big Ten Indoor Track and Field Championships will be held at the SPIRE Institute in Geneva, Ohio on February 25-26 and the NCAA Indoor Track Championships will be held two weeks later in Birmingham, Alabama on February 10 and March 11.
