Sport at RUDN University is not just a hobby, but a lifestyle. For the past three years, the university has been participating in the FISU Healthy Campus project, a program to promote a healthy lifestyle in universities, and in July 2022, RUDN University will host the FISU Powerlifting World Cup.
FISU not only organizes sporting events, but also implements educational projects.
FISU clean sport
FISU stands for “clean” university sports. In collaboration with the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA), the federation has created an electronic anti-doping manual, describing the types of doping and the methods to combat it. Its target audience are freshmen who are just starting their athletic careers. The manual is available in English, Spanish and French. There is also an online anti-doping learning platform (ADeL) where athletes, coaches and doctors take training courses.
FISU Young Reporters Program
During the XXIX World Winter Universiade in 2019, the educational program “Young Reporter” (U-Media) was held in Krasnoyarsk. Young Reporter is a journalism education program for young sports journalists who can train at major FISU multisport events and at the World University Summer and Winter Games.
FISU Volunteer Leadership Academy
The Leaders’ Academy is an educational event for the international sports and voluntary movement. Every year, the Academy organizes educational activities in Kazan for students from all over the world. Young Sports Management Leaders follow a rich program that includes lectures and panel discussions to develop knowledge and skills in the area of volunteer management at sports events. In 2020, the event brought together more than 200 participants from 116 national university sports federations and the five continental university sports federations.
