Six ready to join athletics program in 2022


FORT COLLINS, Colorado – From suburbs of DC to Nebraska to Arizona to the Colorado neighborhood, the head coach Brian Bedard and the staff brought together six future rams to sign national letters of intent for the 2022 class.

The next six rams include: Kajsa Borrman of Loveland, Colorado; Carsen Bruns of Colorado Springs, Colorado; Neya Jamison of Paradise Valley, Arizona; Rhys Travis of Fort Collins, Colorado; Tyler Benett of Reston, Virginia; and Tatum Bailey of Chadron, Neb.

The class consists of two for the sprint / hurdles group, three for the vault department and one for the throwing team. Collectively, the group has five state championships to boast of. Bedard landed his first second-generation student-athlete with the signing of Kajsa Borrman – the daughter of CSU Hall of Fame pitchers Shelley Greathouse-Borrman and Mattias Borrman whom Bedard recruited and coached in the late 1990s.

Kajsa Borrman | Throws

Attended Loveland HS in Loveland, Colorado… Twice Colorado State Discus Champion… 2021 CHSAA 5A Discus Champion by a margin of over 12 feet and ahead of five seniors… Ranked third in shot put in the status… Ranked second in discus and sixth in shot put in 2021 Colorado high school rankings… Won eight discus events and six shot put events as a junior… 2019 CHSAA 5A discus champion as freshman, five-foot winner… USATF Junior Olympic hammer throw champion from Colorado… Also finished fifth in state shot put in 2019… Won six discus events in first year… In the LHS record books, she holds the discus record and is second in shot put… Daughter of two CSU Hall of Fame track and field pitchers Shelley Greathouse-Borrman and Mattias Borrman… Four times varsity scholar of all the s States… Also recipient of all basketball conferences (2018-19)… Competed in the Swedish national basketball team U15… USATF Region 10 junior Olympic champion 2018 on disc as an eighth year… swept the 2018 flush until the USATF Junior Olympics; discus, javelin, shot put.

“Kajsa is a multisport athlete, playing volleyball, basketball and track and field. I make it a priority to recruit several sports athletes because it makes them more complete. Obviously, I know Kajsa’s parents very well, to have them trained here in the 1990s. From what I have seen so far in Kajsa, the talent, work ethic and competitiveness have been passed on. She will fit perfectly into our championship culture. “

Carsen Bruns | Sprints / Hurdles

Competed in the Rampart HS in Colorado Springs, Colorado… Ranked in the top 3 of all Colorado outdoor hurdles events for 400mH (1st), 300 mH (2sd) and 110 mH (3rd)… Ranked # 2 in 60mH and # 3 in 400m for Colorado Indoor State… Competed in National Outdoor Championships… At 2021 CHSAA 5A State Competition, finished second in 300 mH and seventh in 110 mH… Won nine races of 110 mH and seven 300 mH as a junior… Competed in the 2021 AAU Elite HS indoor championships… In the RHS record book, he holds the n ° 2 marks in 200 m and 300mH and # 3 in 100m and 110mH… Also played football… junior class vice president and all-state academic five-time.

Neya Jamison | Sprints / Hurdles
Attended Chaparral High School in Paradise Valley, Arizona.… 2021 Arizona Interscholastic Association D1 State Track & Field Championship in the 300-meter hurdles with a time of 43.64… In the pelims, she ran a 42.27 for the second fastest time in Arizona Preps… Named Arizona Republic All-Arizona… Won All-State Honors… Ranked second in Arizona and 12e nationally in 300 mH… Holds the top 10 in the Arizona 100 mH ranking (8e) and 400m (10e)… Two-time 300mH Northeast Valley champion (2021, 2019)… Best of 60mH in Arizona with a time of 9.68… Also at AIA State competition 2021, finished fifth in 100mH, eighth in 200 and part of the fourth-place 4x100m relay team… Won six 300mH races and five 100mH races as a senior plus two 400m and one 100m event… 2019 Scottsdale District Champion in 100mH and 300mH… Au CHS, holds all six records (200, 400, 100mH, 300mH, 4×100, high jump)… The parents both participated in the Northern Arizona track and field program… Brother, Brandon, played soccer in the ‘UC Davis.

Rhys Travis | Jumps

Attended Poudre HS in Fort Collins, Colorado… Triple front jumper and # 3 high jumper in Colorado State… 2021 USATF Colorado high jump and triple jump champion… 2021 USATF Colorado high jump champion… height and triple jump CHSAA 5A 2021… Won eight total jumps in the junior season, including the Front Range League title… All podiums end with five wins for the triple jump during the junior season… Holds the record of PHS in high jump and triple jump… Also played basketball every four years at PHS and football for one season.

Tyler Benett | Jumps

Attended South Lakes HS in Reston, Virginia… Ranked in the State of Virginia, # 3 for Indoor Triple Jump and # 9 for Outdoor TJ… At Virginia High School League Class 6 Championships in 2021, finished fourth in long jump and triple jump… Placed third in pole vault, 400m and long jump in the 2021 Region D 6A Championship… 2021 District Liberty champion in five events (triple jump, long jump, 200m , 400m, 4x400m), while finishing second in pole vault and high jump… Finalist in long jump and triple jump at the 2021 VHSL Class 6 State Indoor competition… VHSL indoor 6D champion of the VHSL region 2021 in long jump, triple jump and 500m… Part of three South Lakes District indoor titles, which helped to continue the school’s streak of 11 consecutive streaks… Won All-District, All-Region and All honors -State… In the SLHS record book, he has the # 2 triple jump mark and l a mark # 3 in the long jump.

Tatum Bailey | Jumps

Attended Chadron Senior HS in Chadron, Neb.… At 2021 NSAA Class B State Championships, finished fourth in high jump and long jump, while placing 12the in 100mH … Ranked eighth in high jump in Nebraska … Holds the CSHS school record in 100mH, high jump and long jump … Class B District 6 finalist in high jump and champion in 2019 … Won the high jump in the 2021 Western Conference Championships, while adding podiums in the triple jump, 100mH and 100m… Also a recipient of all conferences in volleyball and played for the four years at CSHS.
