The Dutch make their debut in the national track index

NEW ORLEANS, LOUISIANA – In week four of the USTFCCCA Division III Indoor Track and Field National Team Ranking Index, Central College Men’s Track and Field ranked No. 25 for the first time this season.

National Team Ranking Index points are based on ranking in the national rosters in descending order. The higher an athlete is on the list, the more points they add to their team’s total. These points do not reflect placement or scoring at the NCAA Championships, but are intended to show which individuals and teams have the best chance of scoring well in said encounter.

Central has six individuals in the top 20 of an event and six other brands in the top 50.

high jumper drake lewis (senior, Lathrop, Missouri) leads the way with the No. 3 high jumper in Division III this season (6 feet, 9.75 inches). In the 800 meter race, Noah Jorgenson (sophomore, Sydney) is No. 8 with his time from last week’s Boston trip converted to 1 minute, 53.44 seconds due to the incline track. Will DeHaan (senior, DeWitt, Central DeWitt HS) is also No. 15 in the 800 (1:53.94).

Lucas Heitz (junior, Adel, ADM HS) is n°13 in the heptathlon (4,655 points), Brock Lewis (senior, Lathrop, Missouri) is #15 in the long jump (23-4.5) and Joe Stein (sophomore, Milford, Spirit Lake HS) is No. 19 in the 60 yards (6.88 seconds).

The University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh leads the rankings with Loras College in second place. Williams College (Mass.), Massachusetts Institute of Technology and University of Wisconsin Eau Claire round out the top five.
