MEADVILLE — Meadville swept Warren in track and field on Tuesday.
The previously undefeated Lady Dragons will share the Region 3 title with the backhand.
“We faced tough competition today from both sides,” said Warren’s track and field coach Kevin Dustin. “Our girls lost, but retained a share of the regional title.”
In an 87-62 loss to the Bulldogs, Warren’s daughters were punctuated by first-place finishes by Sophie Olsen in discus (94-4.5), Aurora Feaster in shooting (29-2.5), Shyann Rulander at 1 600 meters (5:37.40) and 3200 meters (14:47.66), Katie Beyer in the high jump (4-7), Lindsay Madigan in the triple jump (31-8), Marissa Gourley in the 100 meters hurdles (18.25) and 300 hurdles (51.31).
Warren’s 4×800 meter relay team of Kirsten Johnson, Sophie Walker, Charlotte Keeports and Rulander won, as did the 4×400 meter relay team of Gracie Gatto, Walker, Beyer and Madigan.
In the boys’ 108-47 loss, Corban Reinard won the 800 meters (2:07.41), Ethan Best the 110 meters hurdles (17.07) and 300 meters hurdles (44.66), Sam Lindell the 1600 (4:50.51), and the relay team of Lindell, Matthew Sowa, Hugh Harrison and Reinard in the 4×800 meter relay.
“Corban Reinard (800), Marissa Gourley (300 hurdles) and Gracie Gatto (400) all qualified for districts,” Dustin said. “We had a few other kids who were less than a second away today. We hope to qualify a few more on Thursday at home.
