The Westerly Track Club riders meeting has been rescheduled to this Wednesday, October 27 at Malted Barley in downtown Westerly from 5pm. many years promoting the club and its many running activities.

The plaques read: “Westerly Track & Athletic Club Lifetime Achievement Award for dedicated and inspiring service to our athletes. “

Club member Nick Bottone said in an email that the club was first formed in 1975, and congratulations must first go to “original club president” Ray Castagna, whose children ran for Westerly High School and that was instrumental in the drive to continue. their race in a “club environment”. Robert Recor succeeded Castagna as the second president of the Track Club in the mid to late 1970s, while Larry Hirsch also held the club title. a good length of time on the initial boards to keep the WTC functional and an asset to the community as a whole.
